About CFC

In 1983, after more than 20 years in the sawmill/ lumber remanufacturing business, Al, Mary, and Mike Johnson along with Wes Peters, organized Cascade Forest Corporation as a wholesale lumber brokerage firm.

The rules were simple: no employees, no machinery, no inventory; all sales would be back-to-back.

Now 25 years farther down the road, we've broken all those rules. We do remanufacturing and carry inventories in several locations in Canada and the U.S., have a few employees and a bit of machinery.

Welcome to the Family

Today's ownership is entirely within the family, consisting of Al and Mary Johnson, sons, Mike, Mark, and Kevin, and daughter, Shannon.  The “extended family” of traders includes Wes Peters, trading in agricultural wood products, and Bryan O'Hagan, specializing in Redwood and factory cedar.
